NEW ASTHETIC
Typography has always been essential to graphic design. Designers not only focus on making reading as enjoyable as possible but also intend to create moods and reflect values and aesthetic impressions with their work. Typefaces hold the power to communicate through more than just words and sentences. So far, most high-quality and approved typefaces are mainly issued by type foundries. I curated the work of over a hundred independent graphic and type designers and asked everyone to design a typographic poster following a few criteria to best illustrate the aesthetic potential and emotional power of each typeface. NEW AESTHETIC is a curation of extraordinary, contemporary pieces of typographic art and shows how an abundance of letter shapes express their own story, feelings, and aesthetic.
